Feedback After the FCJ Internship

Introduction

After 12 weeks of internship at FCJ, I am grateful for the practical learning experiences and the strong support from the team. Below is a concise feedback summary with a few suggestions to make the program even better.

Overall Assessment

1. Work Environment

The environment is friendly, open, and encourages questions. I felt welcomed and supported when facing difficulties.

2. Mentor Support

Mentors guide with a discovery approach, helping interns find solutions instead of providing direct answers. Regular reviews are clear and constructive.

3. Relevance of Work

The tasks are aligned with my major and highly practical: from auth/RBAC and order flows to deploying the frontend on S3/CloudFront.

4. Learning and Growth

I learned how to work in sprints, write documentation, and improve team communication. Knowledge-sharing sessions helped me understand the bigger picture.

5. Culture and Collaboration

Team collaboration is strong, feedback is fast, and respect is consistent. This kept the project progress stable.

6. Policies and Process

Flexible working time and clear processes helped me balance study and internship effectively.

Suggestions for Improvement

  • Standardize onboarding materials and a first-week checklist.
  • Increase feedback cadence (every 1-2 weeks) to adjust goals early.
  • Add short focused workshops (AWS cost, security, best practices).

Future Interest

If there is a suitable opportunity, I would love to continue contributing to FCJ projects.

Closing

Thank you to FCJ and the mentors for creating a supportive learning environment that helped me grow both technically and professionally.
